Claire Gill is a British artist specialising in contemporary photomontage. She is inspired by the world around us and is particularly drawn to the coast. More recently she has also started to explore painting, and a recent house move to a more rural area in West Sussex is encouraging her to explore the landscape.


After studying Textile Design at the Royal College of Art, Claire worked in the fashion industry for a while and then lectured in textiles at University.

Like many people, Claire uses her camera to record the things she is attracted to and wants to remember. Some years ago she began to reassemble these images in digital collages and fell in love with the process.

Colour, surface, and structure are integral to Claire’s work, which she combines to create poetic images, maintaining a sense of the places that inspired them while also leaving space for the imagination.
