Online Art Classes in collaboration with ColourWheel

Want to learn how to draw and paint using a range of different techniques and mediums, all from the comfort and safety of your own home? With social distancing the new normal, this is a great way to take up a new hobby, meet like-minded people and have fun!

Colourwheel offers four or five-week virtual art courses, suitable for beginners and improvers. Each block focuses on one or two different mediums. The courses are available on a Tuesday afternoon (1.30pm - 4.30pm), Tuesday evening (7pm -9.30pm) or Wednesday morning (10am – 1pm) and cover everything from pencil and charcoal sketching to painting with watercolours and acrylics.

An art pack with all the resources you need to complete the course will be delivered to you or, if you already have your own materials, the course is available at a discounted price.

Our fabulous teacher, Fionnuala McGowan, is an artist and fully qualified teacher who is experienced at tutoring online. Thanks to her ‘over the shoulder’ camera, you’ll have a bird’s eye view of all her demonstrations and, just as in a face-to-face class, she’ll be able to answer your questions and give feedback on your artwork. And if you feel you need some additional 1:1 support, that can easily be arranged using the ‘chat room’ facility in Zoom which means you can talk to Fionnuala and share your work with her privately.

All students have the opportunity (optional) to join a WhatsApp group which is a great way to keep in touch and share your artwork between lessons.

Feedback from the classes has been excellent so, whether you’re a complete beginner or someone who wants to improve their techniques and skills, we’re confident you’ll love this course.
