Jason Anderson's new pieces for will be on show exclusively at Cove Gallery between 16 and 24 November. Jason will be in the gallery in person between midday and 3:00pm on Saturday 16 November to launch the exhibition and to meet with customers.
Jason is a Dorset based artist best known for his use of colour and texture. He prefers to work in oils and is inspired by the beautiful and varied landscape of his coastal surroundings. Jason started his art career serving a stained-glass apprenticeship where he worked on many large restoration projects like York Minster, Gloucester and Wells cathedrals. He quickly progressed onto design work, which taught him to compose and stylise subject matter around a 'jigsaw' of painted glass - an approach that still drives his work today. Jason’s use of colour combined with his bold application creates a compelling composition of large sweeping impasto strokes that blend seamlessly into areas of smooth vibrant colour. His work is mainly influenced by the contrast and drama of W. H. Turner and the jewel-like qualities of Gustav Klimt.
